Restart after come back home-Japanese BL movie recommendation
If you’re into soft, emotional stories that blend romance, personal growth, and a touch of healing, Restart after come back home might be exactly the kind of film you’re looking for.
This Japanese BL drama, adapted from Cocomi’s manga of the same name, takes a quiet but deeply emotional look at what it means to fail, return home, and slowly rebuild yourself from the ground up.
Set between the fast-paced life of Tokyo and the stillness of the countryside, the story follows Mitsuomi as he’s forced to face not only his past, but also the unresolved feelings about his father.
More than just a romance, this is a story about reconnection — with family, with others, and ultimately with oneself.

Synopsis:
This story revolves around Mitsuomi, a young man who left his small hometown behind to live in Tokyo and pursue his dreams in the big city.
Ten years later, due to circumstances, his entire world falls apart, and he is forced to return to his parents’ home, located in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by nature.
Mitsuomi is far from happy about having to go back, feeling disappointed and disillusioned with himself for having failed. To him, that village is a monotonous place where it’s practically impossible to move forward or achieve great ambitions. On top of that, his father hasn’t spoken to him since he decided to leave, making his return anything but easy.
The conflict between them arose when Mitsuomi looked down on his father’s work, telling him that if he followed in his footsteps, he would become a nobody.
Those words deeply hurt his father, to the point that they ended up growing apart from each other.
Faced with his new situation, the young man is forced to swallow his pride and ask his father to teach him his trade. However, his father is not willing to accept so easily, leaving Mitsuomi to try and make it on his own elsewhere.
His lack of experience in farm work, along with his clear lack of interest, means that no one is willing to hire him. As a result, he becomes increasingly lost and alone.
Feeling disappointed and frustrated with everyone around him, Mitsuomi finds a glimmer of hope in Yamato, a boy his age who works on a farm growing the village’s best strawberries (among other fruits).
Yamato is warm, kind, and always has a smile on his face. He is willing to make an effort for Mitsuomi, teaching him everything he knows so he can be useful on the farm. However, Mitsuomi’s lack of enthusiasm tests Yamato’s patience.
Over time, Mitsuomi and Yamato begin to form a beautiful bond as they support each other.
However, Mitsuomi starts to feel something more for Yamato, something he doesn’t fully understand and for which he needs answers.
Will Mitsuomi be able to make sense of his feelings for Yamato, heal his relationship with his father and with himself, or will he fail once again in the attempt?
Find out the answers by watching this warm and touching film full of life lessons.
